Back to Work Project

The Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) program is designed to help Social Security recipients move from dependence on public-benefits to paid employment and greater economic self-sufficiency. WIPA is a new approach by the Social Security Administration (SSA) to support Social Security beneficiaries' efforts to return to work.

Many SSA disability recipients hesitate to return to work because they fear they will lose critical benefits and health insurance. Proper planning, along with a knowledgable counselor can help alleviate these fears and assist the individual in making the best choices for themselves.
